Fieve Clinical Services

Introduction
Fieve Clinical Services, Inc. (FCS), is a private clinical research center located on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. FCS was established by Ronald R. Fieve, M.D. in 1983. This clinic has earned a reputation as one of the most experienced, reliable, and efficient study centers in the United States for conducting research trials on new CNS and other compounds in phases I-IV of their development.
FCS has worked with many of the major pharmaceutical companies, both domestic and foreign, as well as with a number of well known Contract Research Organizations. Although FCS has made its mark in pharmaceutical research by specializing in psychiatric and neurologic disorders, it has expanded into other therapeutic areas including hypertension, pain management, obesity/eating disorders, diabetes, headache and sleep disorders, low back pain.

Principal Investigator
Dr. Ronald R. Fieve, a board certified psychopharmacologist, also trained in Internal Medicine, remains the President and Principal Investigator of FCS. He is considered one of the world's leading experts in diagnostic evaluation and biological treatment of mood disorders. Dr. Fieve, who oversees all trials conducted at the center, has published over 290 papers in the CNS field and is currently Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at Columbia University's New York-Presbyterian Medical Center, New York City.

Facilities/Staff
FCS features a large, comfortable waiting room, as well as private offices for interviewing patients, collecting behavioral data and performing physical examinations and ECGs. There is also a laboratory for performing venipuctures and other biochemical laboratory testing. In addition, FCS has private rooms for monitors, a conference room and a kitchenette.
The FCS staff is well experienced in conducting clinical trials and receives continuous training and certifications on FDA regulations, Good Clinical Practice Guidelines and patient treatment assessments.

Patient Recruitment
FCS has a vast marketing program for patient recruitment. This program includes radio, television, newspaper and magazine advertising, participation in several referral services, as well as drawing from Dr. Fieve's large, internal patient database. Additionally, Dr. Fieve's role as founder of The Foundation for Mood Disorders and his affiliation with Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center help to direct hundreds of inquiries about our research trials each year.

Publications
Dr. Fieve also has written two best-selling books: Moodswing and Prozac which have illustrated these disorders to the general population and have drawn public attention to clinical trials in psychiatric research. His highly anticipated third book Bipolar II is set to be realeased in October 2006.
